For most of the past two decades, I have been involved in well over twelve hundred cases and hundreds of trials. I have successfully represented clients in everything from federal cases and homicides to misdemeanors and summary offenses, as well as in civil matters in both federal and state courts.
Criminal Defense: My practice focuses on criminal defense trial and appellate work . I have extensive experience with federal district court, where I have tried numerous trials and motions. Presently, over half of my caseload involves federal court proceedings. I have extensive (daily) trial experience in the Court of Common Pleas and Municipal Courts of Philadelphia. I have also handled matters in the counties surrounding Philadelphia as well as remote from Philadelphia (e.g., Bucks County, Montgomery County, Delaware County, Chester County, Lehigh County, Clinton County, Clearfield County, and others). I also handle matters which are ancillary to criminal proceedings, like criminal forfeitures / petitions for return of property, criminal record expungments, and restoration of firearm carry permits.
A substantial part of my practice involves Civil Rights Litigation, in which I seek to protect an individual's due process, disability, privacy and other rights under the United States Constitution.
Over my nearly two decades of practice, I have accumulated experience in various areas of law including Worker's Compensation, Personal Injury, Social Security, Bankruptcy, Contracts, etc. I am equipped to assist in most areas of law and can also be a valuable resource by pointing you in the right direction.
As a native speaker born in Panama,Central America, I am fully bilingual and can communicate in written and spoken Spanish.
