My area of concentration is criminal defense trial and appellate work. Over the years, I have also accumulated experience in various areas of law: Civil Rights Litigation, Worker’s Compensation, Personal Injury, Social Security, Bankruptcy, Contracts, etc. I am equipped to assist in most areas of law and can also be a valuable resource by pointing you in the right direction.
During most of the last 15 years, I have been involved in well over a thousand criminal cases and hundreds of trials. I have successfully represented clients in everything from federal cases and homicides to misdemeanors and summary offenses.
Criminal Defense: My practice focuses on criminal defense trial and appellate work. I have extensive (daily) trial experience in the Court of Common Pleas and Municipal Courts of Philadelphia. I have also handled matters in the counties surrounding Philadelphia as well as remote from Philadelphia (e.g., Bucks County, Montgomery County, Delaware County, Chester County, Lehigh County, Clinton County, Clearfield County, and others). I also handle matters which are ancillary to criminal proceedings, like criminal forfeitures / petitions for return of property, criminal record expungments, and restoration of firearm carry permits.
I have also handled numerous cases in federal courts. Presently, about half of my practice entails representing accused persons in the United States Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
A growing part of my practice targets Civil Rights Litigation, in which I seek to protect an individual’s due process, privacy and other rights under the United States Constitution.
I am fully bilingual and can communicate in written and spoken Spanish. Since I am fluent in Spanish and many of my clients are Spanish speaking, my office is conveniently located just 5 minutes outside Center City for easier access from surrounding communities. My practice is geographically adjacent to the Frankford, Northern Liberties and Fishtown and Port Richmond areas. It is just off the I-95 (Girard Ave. Exit) and just 5 minutes from Center City.
